Back Street's Back, Alright??

Does Tampa Bay want to lose the World Series? I personally am convinced they do based on the fact that they had the Back Street Boys sing the "National Anthem" before game one of the biggest 4-7 games of that city's baseball life. They couldn't find anyone better and less cheesy than BSBs? I would have rather had Florida native Rob Van Winkle circa 1992 sing the Anthem. At least the unintentional comedy scale would be off the charts. Plus would he try and sing it or rap it?

In other Tampa Bay is cursing their team news, the Devil Rays (emphasis on Devil Rays) are having military type people from the Tampa area singing "God Bless America" during the 7th inning stretch. This is one of the worst new traditions in baseball. Before 9-11 no one sang GBA during a baseball game, EVER. I can see singing it during the 2001 season with a caveat that they would sing Take Me Out to the Ballgame" after. There is nothing wrong with an extended 7th inning stretch for the last 1/3 of a baseball season given the worst national tragedy ever happened to America. But 7 years after the fact I think it is time to move on. Personally, singing GBA during the 7th inning stretch is allowing the terrorists to effect America's most sacred pastime. Just say no to GBA during the 7th inning stretch and if it being played sing TMOTTBG as loud as possible over everyone else. Then, when it can't get anymore awkward in your section, yell God bless America after you finish your true 7th inning stretch song rendition. Don't forget to either proudly thrust your cap in the air or give a solid fist pump.

...at the OLD BALLLLL GAAAAME!!!! GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!! (SICK FIST PUMP)
